Password Reset Procedure for VPN Users
Password Reset Procedure for VPN Users (This applies to both GlobalProtect and FortiClient users, on both the County and Clerk domains respectively.)
** Network passwords may be reset by VPN users themselves if performed before password expiry. If the password is already expired, then the VPN user will not be able to reset their own password. In this case, please reach out to the IT service desk for further support. **
Please follow the process described below to reset your password:
1) Connect to the VPN or make sure you are already connected via VPN.
2) Press the 'Ctrl + Alt + Del' keyboard combination and choose the 'Change a password' option.
3) Complete the process of resetting your password by entering your current and desired passwords in the text fields presented.
4) Once you have received confirmation that your password was reset successfully, sign out of your VPN and then log off of your PC via clicking 'Start --> Username --> Sign Out', or alternatively restart your PC.
5) Sign back into your PC using your new password.
6) Log back into the VPN with your new password.
7) When you launch your Outlook email client, you should be prompted to enter your new password and click OK. Be sure to check the remember password box before clicking OK, or you will need to re-enter your password the next time you launch Outlook.
If you use Outlook for Web (Webmail), please log in using your new password.
If you experience any problems during the password reset procedure, please reach out to the IT service desk, who will be able to assist further if needed.
